BAKEHOUSE STUDIOS
THE BAKEHOUSE PROJECT, Melbourne (2015)
The Bakehouse is a Melbourne institution but world famous that has for over 25 years provided practice space for local, national and international bands. In 2015 the Bakehouse owners Helen Marcou AM and Quincy McLean AM decided to launch an art campaign throughout the venue, each room was taken over by a different visual artist and the 2 billboards that flank Punt Road were also utilised. Artists included but not limited to The Hotham Street Ladies, Emily Floyd, Patricia Piccinini, Spacecraft, The Huxleys, Julia de Ville among others, since then many more artists have contributed as the project continues.
